A completely individually designed home, which I hate to say it, but would make an absolutely stunning Bed and breakfast.
This family home has been completely reformed by its current owner, who due to health reasons is downsizing to a much smaller property. The interior of this house is like no other. The owner has painstakingly cladded all of the walls with all different types of beautiful natural stone. The result is truly stunning.
The house sits on a corner plot with a lovely private courtyard garden and raised stone borders. The house is entered from a quiet road, which also allows access to the lovely village chapel built on the hill behind. The lovely original carved wooden doors take you into the house.
Once inside the main reception area you immediately start to see the beautiful job that the owner has done to the property. From the traditional valencian ceramic floor tiles to the polished wooden decorative ceilings, there really is nothing else like it. The main entrance hall gives access to the two downstairs bedrooms, one with en suite bathroom. This same bedroom also allows access to the upper floor.
The lovely entrance hall takes you into a very large lounge dining room with adjoining kitchen, bathroom and access into the lovely olive tree garden. The lounge has a large hand made open fireplace and various stone recesses for ornaments or house plants etc, and fantastic polished wooden ceilings.
There is plenty of natural light and a great sense of space. The large open kitchen looks out to the garden, and has a full-size built-in paella and BBQ area. Beyond the kitchen there is a large shower room, with a separate utility room beyond.
Up the stairs to the first floor with large open lounge, hand built stone fireplace, and again with gorgeous polished natural wooden ceilings. Leading off from the lounge there are a further three bedrooms all with en suite (one to be completed), and one with its own private balcony.
The kitchen with typical Valencian style ceiling and hand built natural stone pizza oven is to the rear of the property. Beyond here there is room for another bathroom, office or just storage. Up the next flight of stairs (yet to be stone clad) takes one up onto the large roof terrace. From here there are superb views across the orange groves out to the Mediterranean Sea, or back towards the wonderful La Safor mountains.
The roof terrace flooring has all been completed fairly recently, although there are some external walls which still need to be finished with natural stone cladding, and all off the materials required to do this are actually on the terrace. Due to an accident the owner has not be able to finish the end of his lifetimes dream work. There is very little left to do to finish the five-bedroom, four en suite property. You really have to see this house to truly acknowledge the work which has gone into it.
The small village of Potries has several shops, bars, restaurants, small supermarket, chemists and a weekly market. The nearby village of Villalonga thee minutes away has a large supermarket, and Gandia is only ten minutes away by car, here you will find all of the major amenities one could ever need.
